Brian Koonce said For all the animators. I have here a link to a couple of reference footage of astronauts on lunar missions walking and hopping on the moon. I hope they can be helpful to everyone on this project. http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLMxOcnvUcnN0b1KfIMkaewAws2yMYEAQH&feature=mh_lolz
Brian Koonce said In response to the above post, It has been decided that the movement of the characters will follow normal earth gravity. We will employ the normal moon gravity parameters for certain punchlines, but as a whole we will be animating the astronaut like a normal person on Earth
Danielle Ferrell said Hey Everyone, I sent an email but for those of you who are not on my mailing list then here goes the email: 1.) I fixed the TO-DO list and the Shotlist to represent scenes and shots correctly, sorry for the confusion in class today but thank you for working with me! 2.) The list of what everyone is required to animate is up on dropbox, with the name: Gotcha_Animation_TODO_List. PLEASE look it over because it is different than what we saw in class!!! 3.) NAMING SCHEME & Where to upload: We are uploading our animation movies to dropbox in the Animation folder! Name your file: Gotcha_scene#_your name & first initial of last name. For example, if I was animating scene number 8 my final movie file would be named: Gotcha_8_daniellef.mov Please let me know if you have any questions at all! My email address is drf5657@uncw.edu Also, all animations are DUE: Wednesday, 04/24/2013
Danielle Ferrell said Important information from the layout department regarding animating your specific scene: Everyone needs to animate to the shot camera and not perspective. Maya defaults to perspective so you need to go under the panel menu and switch to shotCamera. Thanks. Let me know if you have any questions or run into any problems! My email address is drf5657@uncw.edu Happy animating!
Danielle Ferrell said Good evening everyone! Layout has done their magic and your scenes are ready to be animated! (YAY!) In addition, they came up with the snazzy idea of an FAQ! So, we’ve compiled a list of questions that you should look at to make your gotcha animation life easier! It is up on dropbox entitled, Gotcha_FAQ. And remember, you can always email me if you have additional questions or run into any problems!:-) drf5657@uncw.edu Happy Animating!
Danielle Ferrell said Animation due date has changed!! Get your animations in Thursday, April 25, 2013 by 11:00 am !!! JUST UPLOAD A PLAYBLAST to the Animations folder in the Gotcha dropbox account, make sure YOURNAME is on your playblast! I will contact everyone whose animations were chosen with further instructions on rendering your animation! Remember, if you have any questions at all let me know: drf5657@uncw.edu
Danielle Ferrell said If you are animating a scene with the projector, don’t worry about animating the wheels, Christina did an amazing job with the projector and the wheels animate automatically when you render/playblast your scene! AWESOME JOB! Thanks Christina!
Danielle Ferrell said Everyone, It is IMPORTANT that you download dropbox to your harddrive and set your maya project to the Gotcha Dropbox! WHY? Because if we change any of the models in your scene then your project won’t be updated! In addition, if we need to go through your scenes and change the lighting we need to have your file synced to the gotcha folder! Please make the animation supervisor’s, editor’s, and lighting department’s lives easier DOWNLOAD DROPBOX TO YOUR HARD DRIVE AND SET YOUR MAYA PROJECT TO IT! Thanks!:-)
Danielle Ferrell said H-E-L-L-O! Please remember to add your name to your playblasts when you upload them to dropbox. This way the animation supervisor & director know who to contact for a rendered shot. A few animations have been uploaded already and they look GREAT! We really appreciate everyone’s hard work:-)
Danielle Ferrell said CRISIS AVERTED! All files have been restored to dropbox! So, no matter what time you worked on your animations yesterday they are in the layout folder in the gotcha folder! HOORAY! NO ONE LOST ANYTHING! *sigh of relief*
