Katie Knox said Hey, guys, here’s the animatic for Blade of Vengeance– these will have some changes that were discussed in class, though, so please don’t use this as reference for the final version. The new version should be up by Thursday or Friday at the latest.
Kevin Boggs said Hey guys I just wanted to send this emil out so that everyone knows how to put the files together. We need one Maya file for both productions in Dropbox. Once we have that, everyone please import one of the meshes from the 220 class into it (make sure it is scaled properly as well as it has the textures attached. (If the textures are not attached then just copy the UV layout from the 220 submission “images” folder to the images folder of the scene file.) If everyone places one mesh into the file the layout people can have an easy time just rearranging stuff. I know I will be able to help the layout people too. Let me know if you have any questions. Thank you for your time! Regards, Kevin Boggs
Nicholas Gerzsenyi said Hey guys, I opened the layout and added all the stationary models that were in the folder. Not sure what needs to be added from the ‘Rigged Models’ folder, I was thinking Anton might know, since he assembled the scene file in class last Thursday. Please make sure all the models that need to be in the scene file are present, I just grabbed the ones in the stationary models folder. Also, I noticed there are many scale issues, with the shed being three times as large as the house, so I fixed the shed. The other objects are also scaled a little off, and I would appreciate it if someone went through the layout and made sure the scales all matched up. I uploaded the scene file to the BOV dropbox, under BOV_ProjectFolder>layout_scene_BOV_updated.mb
Chris said I’m in the lab now working on this, but the swing set, fences, and doghouse seem to be a little small. If someone could upload the scene file for fly me to the moon that would be great.
Anton Nikolov said I should be able to add the at least a couple of the models in the rigged folder to the scene file and then upload that version. The rigged models will be moving all over the scene so not sure how vital they are until we actually lay everything else out.

Chris said Hey guys, I know everyone is psyched that classes are finally over and a lot of people will be busy with exams for the next week, but we’ve still got a lot of work left to do to finish this thing in time. The scene file is finally finalized and is available for download from the BOV>Shots folder, filename: BOV_FinalScene_Template.mb. Also in this folder are scene files with shot cameras in position and their movement already keyframed for shots 5,6, and 7. Hopefully we can get the shot cameras set up for the remaining shots in the next few days so we can start animating and rendering. If anyone has done this for any other shots, please let someone else know and upload it to this folder with the same naming convention.
Nicholas Gerzsenyi said Yeah Chris is totally right, we do have a lot to do and I’m sure everyone is swamped with work, but if we all pitch in then it won’t be bad at all. It looks like there is a few shots that the camera’s are setup for, but not all of them. Should we just start setting up the cameras from the master scene file for each production and start animating? Or should we wait for the individual scenes/shots to be setup with the cameras? Cheers
