Rangefinders

I’ve been perusing photos and reading information about some of the 1960s and 1970s rangefinder cameras.  There are a lot of neat models.  I haven’t tried all of these, yet, but here are some of my favorites so far from studying photos, specifications, and web posts:

I listed these because of my preferences for a few things which each of these has in part: wide aperture, sharpness, size, beauty. These may not have the sharpness or build of some of the more sought-after and famous rangefinders, but their image quality can be excellent from what I’ve seen so far. They do make a nice enjoyable break from modern digital photography and demonstrate the quality and feel of a different era. I do have a mostly working Electro GSN from an eBay purchase.  I’ll only have about $35 invested in it so far, but the slower exposures are not working properly as the result most likely from the “pad-of-death.” I may get a repair and CLA done because the sharpness of the lens does seem to be as rumored. There are a few more images here from my first test roll on the Electro GSN; this roll was shot with Kodak BW400CN, processed at Sam’s Club, and scanned on my Epson Perfection Photo 4870.
